Why see The Bridges of Madison County?

A chance meeting

Duty and desire collide in this unashamedly romantic musical, based on the treasured novel by Robert James Waller. The story follows the romance between Francesca (Elizabeth Stanley), an Italian-American housewife unsure of herself, stuck on a remote farm in Iowa, and National Geographic photographer Robert (Andrew Samonsky), who becomes lost whilst shooting the county's bridges and stumbles into her home. And so begins a tantalizing tale of love, loss and acceptance that will melt your heart.

In another life

With an original score by multi-Tony winner Jason Robert Brown, the world of Bridges takes us back to 1965, and explores the nature of our decisions through Francesca and Robert. Although their connection is undeniable, what will the consequences of their affair be?

Undoubtedly a classic, this revival of Bridges opened on Broadway in 2013, going on to win two Tony-Awards that season. Now it's headed out on tour to delight audiences with its heartbreaking story and wonderful performing artists.
