"Eifman not only depicts the reckless drive of a master sculptor and the two women he destroys but the act of creation itself, using nearly naked dancers as clay to be molded into masterworks... the same in your face intensity, the same graphic sensualit

The Eifman Ballet is back with their remarkable talent
Premiering in St. Petersburg in 2011, Boris Eifman's remarkably talented ballet company won great acclaim for 'Rodin', a passionate and evocative portrait of the great French sculptor's torrid love affair with his muse and fellow artist Camille Claudel. Portrayed with furious emotion and profundity, this electric work explores the nature of this tumultuous relationship, through themes of love, art and insanity to the music of Ravel and Massenet.
The young Eifman founded his own ballet company in 1977, with the goal of solely performing his own work. It has become famous for its innovative and unabashedly radical approach to the art form, often drawing inspiration from classical literature and theatre - past ballets have included The Seagull, Twelfth Night and many more evocative and moving works.
