Bernstein's five-time Tony-winning musical comes to LA Opera as a series of three semi-staged concerts. Packed full of show-stopping numbers, Wonderful Town is a witty delight that centers on two midwestern sisters, Ruth and Eileen Sherwood, who arrive in New York, ready to make their name in the world of entertainment. This musical, which includes classic numbers 'Ohio,' and 'Pass the Football,' premiered on the Great White Way in 1953, starring Rosalind Russell.
Heading the cast as the two Sherwood girls in this production are Tony winners Nikki M. James (Book of Mormon) and Faith Prince (Guys and Dolls). The cast also includes Broadway stars Marc Kudisch (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Roger Bart (You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown), while David Lee directs.
