Deep Purple and Alice Cooper at Greek Theater

Why see Deep Purple and Alice Cooper?

A Scarily Good Double Bill

Rock would be a very different beast without these two groups. Absolute icons of the music world, Deep Purple and Alice Cooper set out on a joint headlining tour in 2017, with Purple supporting their latest record Infinite, and Cooper also debuting some new material.

Formed in 1968, Deep Purple have been melting eardrums ever since. Leading the wave of British acts who were experimenting with a heavier sound, which also included the likes of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, they helped to define what we think of as 'hard rock'. They've given us countless classics over the year, such as the iconic 'Smoke on the Water', which can still be heard in guitar shops the world over.

Known for his outlandish stage antics and lyrics that got parents all in a tizzy during the 70s, Alice Cooper paved the way for the likes of KISS and Marilyn Manson with his knowing shock rock antics. He's promised to play all the hits on these dates, so look out for 'School's Out', 'Elected', and 'I'm Eighteen'.

ALICE WAS AWESOME.......TIME FOR PURPLE TO RETIRE

Almost 70 yr. old Alice Cooper put on an entertaining show and had the crowd on their feet. The entire band put their hearts & souls into the show. The addition of Nita Strauss was a plus for the already tight band. My fifth time to see Deep Purple turned out to be disappointing. They sure had a tough act to follow after Alice's show. It's time for Deep Purple to retire and sit back and enjoy life. ... Read more

The show BELONGED to Alice

I have seen Alice Cooper 9 times, and he never disappoints. Alice was in top form and continues to cement his legacy as one of rock's great performers. Every song in his set, from newer numbers like "Paranoiac Personality" and "Brutal Planet", to classics from the 70's and 80's were full of energy and unparalleled showmanship. The same cannot be said for Deep Purple, who came nowhere close to matching the intensity or quality of performance of Alice. Ian Gillian sounded incredibly tired and strained. Alice should have closed the show. End of story. ... Read more

Edgar and Alice rocked it Purple tired

Edgar fired the crowd up as only he could - still owns the instrumentals. Alice is a strong as ever and was one of the best shows I have ever seen, WOW. Deep Purple was very disappointing the sound and the vocals were awful - probably the worse performance by a band I have ever seen. They definitely need to hang it up. ... Read more
