Indie Rock Duo Play The Bowl

The Hollywood Bowl welcomes a two members of indie rock royalty this August for a one off performance. Prodigiously talented and blessed with a startlingly original voice, singer songwriter Sufjan Stevens stunned the music world back in 2005 with his sprawling opus Illinois, the second album from his since abandoned Fifty States Project. In recent years he traversed both psychedelic electronic territories with the wildly ambitious Age of Adz, and introspective folk with Carrie & Lowell, a soft, heartbreaking ode to his parents.

Long haired and always swathed in denim, Kurt Vile is a playful producer of 70s-aping Americana, creating hazey, reverb backdrops to his musings about love and life. Sufjan and Kurt are joined at this concert by French-Cuban musical duo Ibeyi.
