Why see Earth, Wind And Fire?

One of the most popular funk and r'n'b bands of all time, Earth, Wind and Fire's formed in Chicago in 1969 and have sold over 90 million albums in their 45-year history. Drawing influences from the worlds of jazz, funk and African folk, the band birthed a new multicultural form of pop music, steeped in history yet sounding absolutely revolutionary. A far larger line-up than most, the band consists of a handful of founding members around which an ever changing cast of trumpeters, guitarists and percussionists constantly orbit. Alongside changing the face of popular music as we know it, Earth, Wind and Fire have been honored with a place in the Rock 'N' Roll hall of fame, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and have amassed over twenty Grammy Award nominations.

Their story is far from over though. Last year, they released Now, Then and Forever, which was incredibly their 20th studio album. Tracks from it like Guiding Lights fitted comfortably alongside Boogie Wonderland in the Earth Wind and Fire pantheon of horn-filled, funk classics. The band are taking the album on the road across the US and Canada this Spring/Summer. As laid out by founding member Maurice White, the group's main aim is to "convey messages of universal love and harmony" through music, so expect to have yourself a very good time.
