Walt Disney Concert Hall

February 1 - 4, 2018

Leonard Bernstein is celebrated as one of the most forward-thinking Broadway composers of the 20th century, but he also turned his talents to more traditional works. His 1971 Mass came at a time of great turmoil in the world; global conflicts including Vietnam, India and Pakistan, riots at home and a devalued dollar all added to the sense of unease. This celebratory Mass was designed to bring together voices from different communities and to promote peace. This multi-disciplinary concert is led by leading conductor Gustavo Dudamel, with the Los Angeles Children's Chorus and Los Angeles Master Chorale providing the beautiful vocals.
