World renowned installation artist Ann Hamilton is internationally recognised for her large-scale, sensory-engaging multi-media works. The critically acclaimed artist's latest collaboration with the New York-based SITI ensemble, also known for their boundary and genre pushing theatre works, is entitled the 'theater is a blank page' and is a stunning realisation of the impact of conceptual and visual art on live performance.
Winner of the Greater Columbus Arts Council's Artistic Excellence Award when it debuted in 2015 the production is based on the text of Virginia Woolf's modernist novel To The Lighthouse, and makes use of the whole theater, filling its balconies, wings and stage with the novels poignant reflections on loss and perspective, reflected in audience and performer interaction with Hamilton's art, as well as movement and sound.
