AWESOME CONCERT!

Hall & Oates, one of my favorite duos, the concert was superb, sound was awesome, energized crowd. By the time Allen Stone was done, crow was already in a good mood. Tears for Fears rocked the house, live with good sound and music. Hall & Oates keep it going till the end. I would definitely see them again. Highly recommended and worth every penny. The T Mobile venue is spectacular. This concert was worth the trip coming from San Diego, there were people from Seattle next to us who flew in to these these guys... Everyone was happy and very entertained. My daughter had a blast even though she's young but huge Hall & Oates fan (because of me) ... Read more

Two Divergent Approaches

TFF replicated their recordings almost note-for-note, and H&O jammed on theirs, with extended sections for Hall to emote vocally. Many comments about how poor the H&O mix was compared to TFF. My take is that H&O had far more musicians on the stage: 3 guitars, 2 percussion (1 by saxophonist), everyone with a vocal mic. They were going for something much less focused and exacting than TFF. Probably more effects used than needed. Although singing along to what may as well be an MP3 of the original track gratifies one's musical expectations, I have to say I respect the H&O approach more. H&O seemed like they would have been better suited for a more laid back setting than is offered by an arena with tens of thousands of fans who have overpaid for their tickets, and expect to be absolutely blown away by the lights, sounds, songs, & delivery ...
