The LA Philharmonic performs works by Bach, Mendelssohn and Schickele
Join the LA Philharmonic for an evening of chamber music, as they perform a pairing of the great masters Mendelssohn and Bach, as well as a piece by well known Bach parodest and composer Peter Schickele. The recital will also be preceded by a complimentary wine reception, sponsored by local Californian business the Lorimar Winery.
Bringing together the hallmarks of Mendelssohn's creative touch including strong melodic direction, brilliant keyboard fingerwork and fine orchestration, the orchestra will perform his Piano Quartet No. 3, followed Schickele's Quartet for Clarinet, Violin, Cello, and Piano. They will then round off the evening with a rousing performance of Bach's Chaconne for Violas and Organ, and his Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, widely regarded as some of the best compositions of the Baroque era.
