For over four decades, The Gilbert & Sullivan Players have dedicated themselves to preserving and revitalizing the works of the Victorian-era theatrical partnership that provides they took their name from. Celebrating their 45th anniversary season, they take to the road with their stunning production of The Mikado - last performed in 2016, the beloved comic operetta is a firm favorite on stages across the world thanks to its fantastical, whimsical music exotic setting and biting social commentary on the British politics of its day.

The Mikado

The story follows the antics of a young man named Nanki-Poo, who faces banishment from his home town of Titipu. Nanki-Poo is head over heels for Yum-Yum, but unfortunately, the beautiful maiden is betrothed to her guardian, Ko-Ko the tailor. When Nanki-Poo hears that Ko-Ko faces the death penalty for committing the capital offense of flirting, he hastily returns, only to find Ko-Ko has not only been granted a reprieve but has also been promoted to the post of Lord High Executioner.
