Why see Young Frankenstein?
Southern California premiere!
Get ready to split your sides laughing as this hilarious musical adaptation of Mel Brooks' monster hit is reanimated at La Mirada Theatre this fall! Based on the revised UK edition from 2017, this electrifying production will star All in the Family's Sally Struthers as Frau Blche alongside A.J. Holmes as Frederick Frankenstein, Sarah Wolter as Elizabeth and Trent Mills as The Monster.
What is the story?
Based on the smash hit 1974 film starring the late Gene Wilder, Young Frankenstein is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic novel. When Frederick Frankenstein, an esteemed New York brain surgeon and professor, inherits a castle and of course, a fully-stocked laboratory in Transylvania from his grandfather (the deranged genius Victor van Frankenstein), he faces a dilemma: does he continue to deny his family's sordid past, or does he stay in Transylvania to carry on his grandfather's mad experiments to make the dead walk again? And what about romance with his suspiciously attractive assistant Inga?
Young Frankenstein features music, lyrics by the three-time Tony Award winner Brooks, from the book co-written with three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan.
