Reinventing Christmas for the West Coast, Los Angeles Ballet presents its annual production of The Nutcracker. The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, Debbie Allen's updated take on the perennial holiday classic, returns to Los Angeles after a highly successful debut in 2010. Transporting elements of the original Nutcracker to 1920's New Orleans, young Kara receives a Nutcracker filled with hot chocolate. She falls asleep and the journey begins when the doll comes alive! With music by Mariah Carey, tuition by a team of the top ballet dancers in the world and young dancers from the greater Los Angeles region, this is one Nutcracker ballet with true roots in the community.
