Alicia Keys' Brings Her New York Story Nationwide

Scarlet, August 7th, 2025

From Manhattan to Main Street, Alicia Keys' coming-of-age musical is hitting the road.

Fresh off its acclaimed Broadway run, Hell's Kitchen is heading out on a national tour and bringing Alicia Keys' sound and story to cities across the country. Inspired by Keys' own teenage years growing up in Manhattan's Hell's Kitchen, this musical is an emotional exploration of identity, family and finding your voice.

The story centers on Ali, a 17 year old girl living with her protective single mother in a tiny apartment near Times Square. As Ali discovers her talents with the piano, she begins to imagine a future outside her four walls. The score features Keys' iconic hits including "No One", "Girl on Fire", "Fallin" and "Empire State of Mind", alongside brand new songs written for the show.

Unfortunately, you won't see Alicia Keys' performing but she is at the heart of the show, serving as composer and lyricist. With over a decade of planning and developing the musical, Keys' teamed up with Pulitzer Prize finalist Kristoffer Diaz (book) and Tony-nominated director Michael Greif (Dear Evan Hansen, Rent).
