Stewart and Lauper DELIVERED!
My 92-year old mother, who I treated to this concert, has always been fond of Stewart's music and I, Lauper (although I greatly enjoyed his early "Faces" years and early albums ("Ooh La La" one of my favs) Lauper STILL has a very strong voice and presence - as does Stewart. Stewart's backup band was well worth the price of admission. Ushers were wonderful to help me with my mom as she uses a walker and cane and escorted her in a wheelchair to our seats. The Hollywood Bowl could use better disabled access areas but overall very helpful. We sat in E section but beware - a few of the seats to the left of certain rows ARE obstructed views. WHY tickets are continued to be sold is to me, puzzling at best - not considerate and seems rather greedy to sell all tickets no matter - at worse. Carefully review your seating choice prior to deciding.
Great show- true pros
Both artists were great Rods supporting cast was beyond tremendous. All were phenomenal and helped make the show great.
Rod Stewart
I thought the the show at the Amway was amazing Cyndi Lauper and Sir Rod were great
Wonderful show
This was a LOT of bang for your buck. We splurged on great floor seats as I've never seen Rod in person. As he said when he opened - " ... you will NOT be disappointed". Both he and Cyndi gave each song their all. Cyndi opened for an hour and Rod was on for 90 min. His professionally, high-end set and the band members were nothing short of fabulous. The entire crowd didn't sit down for the first 45 minutes - until he told us to sit (please) while he was seated with his back up ladies for a few quieter songs. I left feeling like we received more than our money's worth. This guy just keeps swinging for the fences - no matter his age.
Rod and Cindy
Great show! Both proved that they are still great performers.
Rod Stewart with Cyndi Lauper: Fantastic show!
We've been going to Rod Stewart concerts since the late '80s and this was one of the best! What set it apart was Rod's final encore, "Sailing". I've been hoping to hear him sing that song for decades and when he finally did, it moved me to tears. Cyndi Lauper is a powerhouse. Her set was thoroughly enjoyable, especially her penchant for wandering into the audience at regular intervals. Loved the duet she did wtih Rod as well! ("It Takes Two".)
