Japanese American Cultural & Community Center and East West Players are proud to announce the premiere of the Broadway musical Allegiance is coming to Los Angeles! Allegiance will be performed from February 21 to April 1 2018, opening night is February 28. Directed by Snehal Desai, we follow the story of George Takei's childhood experience, one that inspired the writers to pen Allegiance.
Following the events of Pearl Harbour over 120,000 Japanese Americans forced to leave their homes; including the Kimura family. Seeking to prove his patriotism, Sam Kimura plans to fight for his country in the war, but his sister, Kei, protests against the government due to the way they treat her people.
Allegiance shows the sheer power of human spirit, following the Kimura family as they battle between custom and change, duty and defiance, family bonds and forbidden love.
