The Ants at Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater

Why see The Ants?

World premiere

Horror infuses this anticipated new play by Ramiz Monsef. Created as part of the Writer's Room Program and directed by Pirrone Yousefzadeh The Ants marks its world premiere at the Geffen Playhouse's Audrey Skirball Kenis Theatre this summer. An examination of surveillance, follow Rami, a young man holed up in his brother's home, protected by the best security money can buy. But when unrest breaks out around them, will this luxury stronghold be enough to save them from what's outside?

Billed a darkly comic social commentary, Monsef asks us to take a look at the ways we protect ourselves, and what's left when we are so ensconced, we can't even see the real world around us.
