Musical 42nd Street to Show at The Cerritos Center in L.A
The popular musical 42nd Street comes to Los Angeles this Fall, 38 years after its successful Broadway debut. Based on the book by Michael Stewart and the 1933 Hollywood film, this vibrant musical tells the story of triumph in trying times.
After its dazzling debut, the musical went on to be performed in Sydney and The West End, as well as on a UK and Asia Tour. The story focuses on a ambitious young dancer named Peggy Sawyer who leaves her home town of Pennsylvania to go to New York City in hopes of making it big.
The musical has received many accolades including the Tony Award for Best Musical in 1981, the Olivier Award for Best Musical in 1984 and the Tony for Best Revival of a Musical in 2001.
