The directorial debut of African-American film director Gary Gray, who'd go on to direct smash hit Straight Outta Compton, cult classic Friday helps bring the sunny series to a close in a hazy blaze of stoner comedy, classic one liners and a thumping hip hop score.
Written by and starring Ice Cube, as well as Chris Tucker in his first ever starring role, Friday follows the misadventures of the South Central Los Angeles-dwelling Craig Jones and his best friend Smokey, a free-spirited drug dealer with a knack for getting into trouble. Framed for stealing on his day off, Jones loses his job and becomes entangled in the wrong sort of business when he and Smokey smoke a stash of weed marked for selling. Neighbourhood supplier Big Worm is less then pleased, threatening to ice the bumbling duo if they don't cough up $200. They have 24 hours or else...
