In an era of fake news and incendiary tweets, words can cleave nations in two and sow the seeds of social media meltdown. But a new generation of poets seek to reclaim the written and spoken word, upholding its emotional power and masterfully commenting on topical issues with nuance and artfulness. One such poet is Boulder, Colorado's Andrea Gibson, a wordsmith and activist whose works explore gender, love, social reform and the struggles that the LGBTQ community face.

May 14, 2020

Trading a stetson for a trucker cap, Koe Wetzel is doing country music his way. A resident of the Lone Star State, he fuses the raw, hillybilly East Texas country music of his upbringing with a punk rock spirit and bro-country hooks, all wrapped up in a fun-loving persona that makes for a party atmosphere at his live shows. Following the summer 2019 release of his third studio album Harold Saul High, Wetzel rock outs on the road with his band this winter.

The alter-ego of super-sized baritone and Kingsized band leader Mike Geier, Puddles has been a mainstay of the Atlanta entertainment scene since 1998. The six-foot-eight inches entertainer has come to international fame with his heartfelt renditions of famous songs and distinctive whiteface clown costume. An enigmatic figure, he is known for not taking interviews in character, but has performed at various festivals in both the USA (Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force's tour in 2010) and at countless worldwide comedy festivals, including the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Country music songstress Jana Kramer traded stiletto heels for cowboy boots when she left hit cult classic TV drama One Tree Hill, launching a music career that has culminated in the release of two studio albums, the last of which saw a collaboration with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. In the style of Shania Twain and Faith Hill, Kramer elevates the country ballad to new heights with her sweet soprano.
