This is a mostly faithful retelling of the classic Bogart/Bacall movie. With a cast filled with familiar faces from movies and TV and an engaging suspenseful plot, this well executed play can be enjoyed by theater aficionados and novices alike.

When I heard that Andy Garcia was involved I was excited to see the play. From the opening scene the show was disjointed. The characters were running around and seemed like they were each acting separately . The plot was not cohesively presented . It was almost like a farce but that’s not what it was meant to be. Our seats were in the last row of the mezzanine though the confirmation showed otherwise . It makes me sad not to recommend the show because I love the Geffen and was a great admirer of Gil Cates.
