Erik B and Rakim were pretty late to the stage, but this can be expected from anybody who isnt used to Denver altitude. The sound man was wayyyy off target, the lighting was wayyyy off target-- when Yo Yo came on there were NO lights-- when Erik B and Rakim came on there were NO lights. Get it together, Fillmore!!! An earlier review stated the DJ was playing 2000s rap-- nope. It was alll 80s and 90s. I cant fault Erik B and Rakim for the amateur hour that the Fillmore gave-- seriously, Fillmore-- wtf is wrong with you?

The concert was awful. Much respect for Rakim, Eric B and Yo Yo. *Sound was horrible, the sound man heard the crowd screaming that we could not hear the artist. Ladies and gentlemen, this Professional sound team did not place any center speakers for the people on the floor. Instead, he was at his sound board taking pictures for social media. *no MC or Host. There was literally no one to move the program. *3x dead space between acts lasting over 30 min each, no music just dark stage *wrong artist blend: Trap rappers open up a Hip Hop concert. White rapper repeating the N word on stage to 95% black crowd. *opening acts boo'ed *DJ to young to understand how to continue pumping up crowd to Ole School Hip Hop. She played hard 2000's rap music in the set, then she jumped from behind the DJ booth to rap:( *The event was totally unorganized. *Bass turnt to max output, Hip Hop did not have heavy bass in the 80's. * Promoters should have a rating, it will force them to put on shows correctly.

Expected better from one of the greats.

This has to be one of the worst experiences at a show I've experienced in recent memory. I will point out that I arrived later in the evening, and did not see the opening acts; I cannot comment on their performances. Eric B and Rakim came on at 11:15 or so. Right out the gate, the sound was a huge issue. Some tracks sounded okay, while others were just completely out of balance or distorted. it was obvious Rakim was using a vocal backing track, and at several points he was out of sync with it. If I was to learn they just put on a CD on and used that, I would not be surprised. Eric B looked bored up there; very little scratching, or much of anything that I could see. The displeased, unresponsive crowd thinned out a lot as the show dragged on . The show closed with 'Paid in Full', with Rakim holding out the mic and letting the crowd sing a disproportionate amount of the lyrics themselves; seems like he had given up by this point. Almost $50 ticket (!); bad production or cash grab?
