Daisy, Daisy
Traverse the cosmos as the stars rise above you in this special presentation of Stanley Kubrick's seminal 1968 epic, 2001: A Space Odyssey in celebration of Warner Brothers' 100th anniversary. As iconic sonically as it is visually, you'll watch the movie on a giant screen as the LA Phil and the Los Angeles Master Chorale come together to play the score live. This is going to be monumental!
2001: A Space Odyssey
A meditation on man's place in the universe the movie begins millions of years ago in the African desert with a tribe of apes, before flying forward through time to a spacecraft bound for Jupiter, piloted by the serenely creepy computer HAL. Full of revolutionary special effects and filmed in Kubrick's trademark deliberate style, it's a film that has had an immeasurable impact on the genre and film-making as a whole.
The film's use of classical music, including Richard Strauss's 'Also Sprach Zarathustra', is also rightly celebrated and much parodied to this day.
