Today, Quincy Jones may be best known for his production work - he was behind the boards on Michael Jackson's Off the Wall and Thriller amongst many others - but he also sealed his place in the history book with his own records. Often held up his finest work, the trilogy of records he made for A&M records, Walking in Space, Gula Matari and Smackwater Jack, marked a turning point for Quincy, as he moved away from the world of jazzy big-bands to the pop mainstream.
A collection of talented performers come together at the Hollywood Bowl to celebrate Quincy's A&M years, including Valerie Simpson, who was the unforgettable vocalist on Quincy's versions of 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' and 'What's Going On'.
