Featuring mainstage classics Il Trovatore, Don Giovanni, and La Cenerentola, as well as groundbreaking company premieres like Missy Mizoli's modern classic Breaking Waves, the Los Angeles Opera's 2020/21 season invites audiences into the enchanting world of opera once more. The season cavorts on with Rossini's rollicking bel canto opera La Cenerentola, Stefan Herheim's fairytale production featuring conductor Roberto Abbado, Italian mezzo-soprano Serena Malfi and South African tenor Levy Sekgapane.

Pink Martini are the brainchild of Thomas Lauderdale, who in the early 1990s was thinking of running for Mayoral office. But he slowly became frustrated and fascinated by the musical entertainment during political society events. So he formed Pink Martini to address this and make music that appeals to everyone, from liberals to conservatives, all over the world. Over 20 years later, they're still going strong!

The Grammy- and Emmy Award-winning Israeli-American is renowned as the pre-eminent violinist of the 20th century after coming to prominence at the tender age of 13 on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1958. Despite losing the use of his legs due to polio, he has overcome the odds to become one of the most successful violin virtuosos in the world and his haunting music work has featured in movies including Schindler's List and Memoirs of a Geisha.

One of the greatest musicals of all time, Les Miserables returns in a cinematic new production that wowed Broadway audiences and earned three Tony nominations. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh, and based on the novel by Victor Hugo, Les Miserables is a sweeping epic set against the backdrop of the French Revolution, and contains the classic songs 'One Day More' and 'I Dreamed A Dream'.

Programming continues with Mozart's landmark 1787 opera Don Giovanni, featuring the conducting talents of foremost Mozart interpreter James Conlon and Italian bass Ildebrando D'Arcangelo as the titular doomed playboy.
