Why see Damien Rice?

See the thrilling Damien Rice live

Elusive, earnest and mesmerizing, acclaimed Irish singer song-writer Damien Rice has the power to make you feel chills down your spine with his beautifully haunting songs, fluidly moving from gently acoustic to lush fury, swelling and crashing, eliciting emotion from even the most hardened music fans.

Breaking through with the enigmatic record 'O' in 2002, the Irish singer-songwriter captured our imaginations with his rousing hits including 'Cannonball' and 'The Blower's Daughter', before continuing his unique brand of viciously heartbreaking folk with '9' in 2006. Since then, he's collaborated with artists such as Tori Amos and David Gray, taking the long way round to his last album, My Favourite Faded Fantasy, which was released in November 2014.

Damien had to stop in the middle of the song (a duet of "Astronaut" then after a brief delay, he restarted and finished the song). You could feel the energy drain from the Auditorium. Two nights earlier in NYC, Damien performed 16 songs including the finale of his most famous song "The Blower's Daughter." In Chicago, he cut his set short to 15 songs (without the song we travelled a thousand miles to see). It's unfortunate that one person was selfish enough to nuke what was an epic performance up until that point. ... Read more
