Los Angeles Ballet - Lady of the Camellias at Royce Hall

Why see Los Angeles Ballet - Lady of the Camellias?

A timeless and tragic romance

Lushly scored by Frederick Chopin with beautiful choreography from Val Caniparoli, let the Los Angeles Ballet's presentation of the Lady of the Camellias sweep you up in with its evocative story of a doomed 19th-century romance between country boy Armand and the ravishing Parisian courtesan Marguerite.

What is the story?

A love story at its core, Lady of the Camellias chronicles the relationship of 1800s Paris' most sought-after Courtesan and the story's selfless heroine Marguerite Gautier and Armand Duval, a middle-class gentleman who defies conventions by falling deeply and irrevocably in love with her. The young lovers face jealousy the wrath of French society and, unbeknownst to Armand, the evolution of Marguerite's fatal illness.
