Excellent Show!

Shelby was disarmingly filthy funny. Cheech and Chong took awhile to get into their comedy groove. After a few routines, they had everyone falling off their seats laughing. War was magnificent! The show was memorable.

Started a little slowly but did rev up. Was hoping to hear and see a few more classics. Did some memory lane tributes to Vancouver which were funny. All in all a great show glad i got to see them together! Blaze on people!!!!!!

Anticipation Let Down

My anticipation for the Cheech and Chong, War, Tower of Power concert at Chastain far exceeded the reality. Shelby (Tommy Chong's) spouse was crude and decidedly not humorous. Cheech and Chong opened with a few Q & As from audience members which fostered a homey, comfortable atmosphere. Their material was familiar and brought back very fond memories of a time long ago. Remember smiling / laughing until the back of your head hurt? Yeah, like that. Tower of Power absolutely ROCKED it! The familiar precision of the horn section left us breathless, on our feet, and screaming for more. Sadly, War was cut very short due to the 10:45 p.m. noise ordinance, strictly enforced for that venue, ending the event on a disappointing note. And, where was ATL??? I hope the poor turnout was not reflective of the summer concert season, but was more a result of possible poor weather. Very poor showing. HOWEVER, we had a generally good time, good easts, good company. Far out, man!

This was like a fireside chat documentary with a interviewer asking questions about how they met and rose to stardom. It was something I could have watched on You Tube for free instead of paying $100+ per ticket. It was at times very boring and tedious to listen to them reminiscing about how they met and what they did in their showbiz lives. A huge disappointment! If they wanted to share this, then they should have billed it this way. I think many of us expected to see some comedy stand up, not a rehashing of who they were! They were on for about 1hour and 10 minutes and played one song/skit at the end, Mexican Americans. I have been a fan since the early seventies and I drove a long way to see what I thought would be some throw back comedy routines and what I got was we're here just to take your money. After this show was postponed for two years due to the pandemic, you two had plenty of time to do some comedy blending your past and present. Dull and not a t all entertaining and a waste of money. Dave's not coming back!

Didn't pay to hear political nonsense

Unfortunately Chong's wife got off to a bad start by Trump thumping. The audience booedoff the stage but then she did an about-face and started talking about dirty sex, which was not what I paid to hear. Cheech and Chong came out and did the classic of them in the car and that would have saved the day except that Chong wouldn't let it go and tried to ease back into the Trump thumping. The audience started shouting at him to knock it off and one lady even stood up and said "Can't you Let It Go ? We didn't come here for political propaganda!" He kind of lost his train of thought and ended by saying "Well, trump and Putin are going to get what they deserve!" And to that the audience started chanting, "we love Trump, we love Trump, we love Trump!" Then they did one of their old acts to try to save the day but the laughter just wasn't there like before. After the show I heard a lot of people bitching in the lobby and I was too I was very disappointed that this turned out to be a political act and not a comedy Act. Such a disappointment, I've totally lost respect for these two who I used to think we're some of the funniest people on the planet.
