THE ICONIC HOLIDAY TALE RETURNS TO THOUSAND OAKS
T'is the season to be jolly, even in sunny California this holiday season! Thousand Oaks Repertory Company will be performing a wonderful stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' iconic story that sees Ebenezer Scrooge mend the error of his ways, with the help of three helpful - but not always friendly - spirits of Christmas. A holiday tradition across the States, there's no reason why Californians can't join in on a snowy festivity at the theater!
A CHRISTMAS TALE WITH SPOOKY GUESTS
Ebenezer Scrooge doesn't believe in Christmas. In fact, he gives a mighty "Bah Humbug" towards the very thought of it. So on Christmas Eve, his loyal and kind employee Bob Cratchit, whose son Tiny Tim is very sick, isn't allowed to have the day itself off. After begrudgingly giving in after his protests, Scrooge retires to his room to pass Christmas Eve as he usually does, alone.
But this time, he won't be as alone as usual as he has a visitor for a change; the wretched soul of his late business partner Jacob Marley. Doomed to wander the earth for eternity for his miserly ways in life, Marley warns Scrooge of three impeding visitations to come.
In a fit of fear, Scrooge meets the gentle Ghost of Christmas Past, the jolly Ghost of Christmas Present and the ominous Ghost of Christmas to Come, all of who make him see the error of his ways, and to reform himself as a kindly man. Hence, Scrooge is saved from perdition, and for once embraces the true meaning of the holidays; a time for generosity!
