overwhelmed first-time live show attendee

seems to be an over abundance of jaded negativity here so i will counter with - as OG fan but having never seen indigo girls live before i was unexpectedly gifted with this show by my partner and was simply impressed beyond belief, moved to tears by much of the performance and overwhelmed by the accompaniment of the "Dayton Chorus". it was both beautiful, inspiring and a testament to the power of live music. the only negative for me was the repeated and finally rude interference of some in the crowd who didn't seem to respect the artists' choice of their own playlist and understand how it's not just a laundry list of songs but an intentional intelectual exercise to achieve a particular result for this particular evening. the whole night was a deeply felt life moment that i will never forget. much love and respect to all.

A bit disappointed

I have seen the Indigo Girls several times and they are amazing artists, musicians, instrumentalists and most importantly, human beings. Emily’s voice seems strained and not at all what I expected having heard her in previous venues. I feel sad for her as it was apparent either she was not feeling well or that the title volume of her lungs ha# changed dramatically. The good news is she could get involved in yoga and breath work and other cardiovascular efforts to improve her stamina. Having no singing talent myself I hate to be judgmental but it was apparent her voice did not carry the same luster 😟

Many loyal fans paid a high price for tickets and showed up for the Indigo Girls but not sure the girls were 100% on board with the venue or were felling healthy??. Both appeared nervous and Emily’s voice struggled most of the show. If there are empty seats for Sunday show, please invite the guests back from Friday’s’ performance who deserved at least 1 more good song.

Just not themselves tonight

Lucy opened for Indigo girls again and continues to be funny, talented and a fine entertainer. Lyris Hung was amazing on violin! The venue was extremely hot. The Indigo Girls just didn’t seem themselves. We have seen the Indigo Girls so many times in so many places over past 28 years. They are amazing. Something was off tonight, particularly in Emily’s voice and concerning to me that maybe she wasn’t feeling well. Love them all and wish the best as they continue their tour. Take care and safe travels.

Sound issues/ song selection

Let me begin with the fact that I am A huge fan of the indigo Girls. I was sincerely disappointed last night by the sound quality (couldn’t hear their voices on some songs), Emily’s voice which was not right-hope she’s ok, and the song selections. Not certain if the song selections were influenced by Emily’s voice as they outright did not even play at least 7 or 8 of their all time greatest songs. Hope they can get it right for the rest of their tour!

What was going on?

Ravinia is an awesome venue! We have been donors for years. We arrived early and could hear the Indigo Girls warming up with a band in background and thought, "not bad? Well, they're warming up" Then the Indigo Girls took the stage with a violinist and a backup signer, I was ready for a nice show. What was going on? No one was signing on key? Shaky, off key, no harmonizing between the Indigo Girls nor the backup signer? The constant guitar changes throughout the show between the Indigo Girls turned into a drinking game among us! Really surprised by the level of unpreparedness of the group itself. Well, I just know I paid for 8 expensive tickets for others in the group that had been fans of the Indigo Girls, who were questioning what we had experienced, as we left before the end of the show. If I could get my money back, I would gladly ask for it.
