Blink 182 + Lil Wayne tour @ Mansfield, MA review

4/5
Derek C. from Boston, Massachusetts
13th July 2019

While this tour pairing has already proved it will be filled with dramatics (esp. after Lil Wayne cutting his set short in VA due to issues with the crowd), for one night in Massachusetts, the Blink-182 and Lil Wayne headliner worked. Weezy came on as the sun was setting and the Xfinity Center filled up with an array of concert goers. As Lil Wayne rattled off his hits, he quickly shifted from song to song, keep the fans chanting along as smoke and vape filled the air. Weezy brought great energy with oldies like "Go DJ" and "Fireman" before finishing with his new Swizz Beats song "Uproar". As Blink 182 took the stage, they blasted through their whole Enema of the State album rather seemlessly without old bandmate Tom Feelings and inserting Matt Skiba (fomerly of Alkoline Trio). Travis Barker's orb-turning 4 min. drum solo wowed everyone before Mark Hoppus concluded the night with their breakout single "Dammit" to a happy crowd. Neck Deep opened in what was a great night of music.
