Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows at The Forum

Why see Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows?

Mr Thomas and Me...

Two icons of late-90s rock head out on tour together this year as Matchbox Twenty and Counting Crows take to the road to gig across the US in their "A Brief History Of Everything" Tour! Set to last almost three months, the tour will see the two bands share the limelight to play fans a selection of their greatest hits from their illustrious discographies.

Matchbox Twenty were a hit right from their very first album which was Diamond certified in the USA and multi-platinum in Australia, Canada and New Zealand! Formed in Florida in 1995, the band has been very lucky to see few line-up changes during their seventeen-year history.

Formed in San Francisco in the early 90s, it was Counting Crows' 1991 debut August and Everything After which shot them to fame. Overseen by uber-producer T-Bone Burnett, it featured the monster hit Mr Jones, which turned the band into a household name overnight. Its easy going blend of alternative rock with just a hint of country stood in sharp contrast to the Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins' releases of the same year, and helped cement their place in rock history.

Question? What did RT say was his favorite line

MB20 was so fantastic! Incredible energy by Rob Thomas and the guys. (didn't care for the Counting Crows and agree with all of the reviews I've seen). Can anyone tell me what song it was when Rob brought up the lights and said he slammed his favorite line? And what line was it? My friends and I Couldn't remember. We were blown away by the whole show that MB20 brought. We sat in section 101w seats 13 14 and 15 and were afraid from other reviews about the Pavilion that we would be packed in to tight and unable to move and dance but we found it to be completely fine. The sound and lights for Matchbox 20 was great. Agree with other Pavilion reviews that there could have been signage for parking because we were told by an attendant o do a U-turn and park far away on the street but we actually got in line to park in the parking garage and that was fine and was not full. Restaurant we liked near by was In Fretta Pizza Wings Bar on Regent Blvd. Great craft drinks. ... Read more

I love both bands

I grew up during this era, listen to every album by both bands. Sad to say Counting crows wasn't up to their normal par. I was in 7th row seat 1 right in the front. Next to the opening band Rivers & Rust and lead singers mom. it was definitely sound problems, for CC. MatchBox20 killed it.. The Stadium from my perspective even with all the cell phone lights on was a sight to behold and he ran from left to right side of the stage at his age doesn't get better than that ... Read more
