Barns Courtney Hits The Open Road
Serving up storming pop-rock with a generous side helping of husky vocals, soulful blues riffs and driving drums, Barns Courtney is an anthem-toting troubadour fresh from the sleepy hills of Aylesbury, England. Contrary to his pastoral childhood, Courtney cut his teeth as the frontman of various different indie bands before emerging as a fully-fledged solo artist to watch when his rebellious track Fire found its way on to the soundtrack of Bradley Cooper's film Burnt in 2015.
Hot on the heels of his debut album cycle, the rising upstart is keeping up the moment and hitting US shores with a brand new release in tow. Released in September 2019, 404 is a 10 track exploration of Courtney's own transition into adulthood, the loss of innocence that brings and the optimism for the future that bubbles beneath the surface. This existential journey is buoyed by his trademark rock and roll grooves, insightful and poetic lyrics and distinctive emotive howl.
