David is a Treasure of Real. Satirist, Comedian, Brilliant, on and on. Twists one's mind, opens it, scares it. laughs it ! Arlington a great venue with restaurants nearby, parking easy. Love seeing David Sedaris there.

David Sedaris State Theater

David was signing books before the show (and after). The show started 15 minutes late and he introduced a local writing master's program student and allowed her to read her story early in his program. Read essays he'd written over the summer, audience laughed a lot.

Sedaris - Effluent discharging of humor? Bawdy - I'll take a refund, please.

Left early - a little pathetic - one has to pay for homes in NY, Sussex and Paris.

David Sedaris 2022 Book Reading Tour

This show consisted of David reading new material with much sexual humor; however, I wished to have heard at least some of his previous published material. He is very generous with time in signing autographs!

When does the venue damage the performance?

Last evening, we sat in the 4th floor balcony to see a dot on the stage that claimed to be David Sedaris. It may have worn a tux and tails because it said so. I think it drank water every now and then. David Sedaris should take a hard look at his booking agency because the Auditorium Theater is a middle finger in the eye, and ear, of anyone thinking they are actually going to see, and hear a performer. Seeing David Sedaris at the Auditorium Theater was like listening to an audiobook on the Matterhorn. But with less of a view.

We also sat in the Upper Balcony at David's performance last night. He had a young woman come on and read her poetry. She is not an experienced speaker, so we could hardly hear her up in the Upper Balcony. We could not see David's face up there either. Suggest the Schnitzer management upgrade the speaker system so the people who have paid for tickets to a performance can at least hear them inside the building! As for the material, my husband and I felt that it was a bit slow, and not as interesting as past events. We'll stay home and listen to an audiobook of his next time.
