Although Scars on Broadway's previous releases were a little more straightforward hard rock, Dictator contains a dozen humorous, pogo-ready rockers that Malakian recorded by himself in 2012

System Of A Down veteran Daron Malakian tours his solo project Scars On Broadway
Out of the ashes of the multi-platinum, alt-metal behemoth that was System Of A Down rose Scars On Broadway, a side-project turned fully-fledged hard rock phoenix formed by SOAD guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan in 2008. Ten years after the release of their eponymous debut, Malakian rebranded the band and released their sophomore effort Dictator, a ferocious and politically sharp compilation of anthemic choruses, unapologetic hooks and satisfying distortion. Hitting the road with new touring members, Malakian brings his latest material to the West Coast on tour this winter.
Written and recorded in 2012, Dictator contains songs once considered for a SOAD reunion, but when it became clear it wasn't on the cards, Malakian decided to release them himself whilst also signalling a return to momentum for his solo outing. Fizzing with his trademark chaotic energy, songs like 'Angry Guru', 'Assimilate' and 'Talkin' Sh*t' burst angrily from the record and onto the stage. Expect a no-holds-barred rock and roll gig with much sweating, moshing and crowd surfing.
