My wife and I attended Sunday Oct.23. It was a fantastic show; funny, fast moving, and visually appealing. Lea Sevola, playing Vivenne, was especially impressive. The audience loved it, punctuating several scenes with spontaneous applause. The packed house left happy after giving the cast a rousing standing ovation.

We attended on July 12, 2023 and was looking forward to it however after the big rain delay at intermission we had seen enough and like a great many others left. The main role of Warner, Luke Hamilton, singing voice wasn’t what would be expected of a main character. The ensemble was loaded with many from the Kansas City area, a nice touch, but they just seemed to bounce around with multicolored costumes with not much purpose. The staging was pretty so so and if felt drawn out and silly. Hoping that the remaining 2 shows offer something to love and sing about. The last performance has been canceled to so not such a great year which in the past had fabulous productions. We’ve been season ticket holders for many many years so hopefully things will start to turn around.

I don’t think I have ever walked out on a show during intermission ever before. This show was a total disappointment. I saw this show at the pant ages 10 years ago and was so bummed that this production was lacking so much character and energy. The girl who played Elle looked like she was just phoning in her dance routine. Seemed like half of the cast can’t hear themselves sing on and off. The only reason I gave the show 2 stars was because the original music is still great, but it could be such a different, spectacular show with a different cast and set. We gave it a B-, and couldn’t imagine sitting through the rest of the show. Waste of $.
