Silent Bob Speaks
With an increasing number of stand-up specials made especially for its roster (over 200 can be found on-site already), it makes sense that streaming heavyweight Netflix is taking its golden comedy formula to the stage. Finally taking place from April 28 to May 8, the first-ever Netflix Is A Joke Fest is set to leave LA in stitches, featuring the biggest and brightest established comics, as well as up-and-coming performers that are just itching to be discovered by new fans. Don't miss the iconic 'King of the Nerds' Kevin Smith as he presents musings on life post-heart attack and weight loss in new show 'Kevolution'.
One of the most important indie film directors of the 90s, Kevin Smith came to everyone's attention with his lo-fi debut Clerks. Shot on a shoestring budget, the idiosyncratic black and white comedy launched Smith's career, which continued with acclaimed comedies like Dogma and Chasing Amy, and more divisive works like the recent thrillers Tusk and Red State. Additionally, alongside his outspoken pal Jay, he's inhabited the role of Silent Bob in the duo's many pop-culture-inspired movies.
