Why see Cheech & Chong?

THE ORIGINAL STONERS RETURN

Richard 'Cheech' Marin and Tommy Chong are on tour again with their very special brand of humor - be ready for a great night of entertainment.

Cheech and Chong first embarked on their comedy career in the 1970s, with their comedy revolving largely around counter-culture and drug references, and are commonly recognized as the "Stoners' Comedians". They released several comedy albums as well as feature films before parting ways in the late 1980s to work on their own solo careers; Cheech Marin went on to voice the character of Banzai the dastardly hyena in Disney's The Lion King, and is a frequent collaborator with director Robert Rodriguez, and has appeared in seven of his films to date. It wasn't until 2008 that the 'Cheech & Chong' flame was reignited with a reunion tour, their first tour in 25 years, which sold out from coast to coast.

Excellent Show!

Shelby was disarmingly filthy funny. Cheech and Chong took awhile to get into their comedy groove. After a few routines, they had everyone falling off their seats laughing. War was magnificent! The show was memorable. ... Read more

Anticipation Let Down

My anticipation for the Cheech and Chong, War, Tower of Power concert at Chastain far exceeded the reality. Shelby (Tommy Chong's) spouse was crude and decidedly not humorous. Cheech and Chong opened with a few Q & As from audience members which fostered a homey, comfortable atmosphere. Their material was familiar and brought back very fond memories of a time long ago. Remember smiling / laughing until the back of your head hurt? Yeah, like that. Tower of Power absolutely ROCKED it! The familiar precision of the horn section left us breathless, on our feet, and screaming for more. Sadly, War was cut very short due to the 10:45 p.m. noise ordinance, strictly enforced for that venue, ending the event on a disappointing note. And, where was ATL??? I hope the poor turnout was not reflective of the summer concert season, but was more a result of possible poor weather. Very poor showing. HOWEVER, we had a generally good time, good easts, good company. Far out, man! ... Read more
