Pop music visionary, fashion icon, Bond girl...there's little doubt that Grace Jones is a towering cultural icon, and she comes to The Hollywood Bowl this September for one night only. The Jamaican born singer scorched her way across the 1980s with her tribal, disco-tinged pop, and created some of the most idiosyncratic charts hits of the decade, including Slave to the Rhythm and Pull Up to the Bumper.
Joining her at the Bowl are Future Island. The Baltimore trio have been crafting impeccable electronic pop for over a decade, but it was last year's album Singles (and a memorable appearance on Letterman) which finally got them the commercial and critical attention they deserved. The album's lead single Seasons (Waiting on You) was named as the best track of the year by Pitchfork, and the Song of the Summer by Stereogum.
