Ionesco's absurdist Exit The King returns!
We are an independent show guide. Resale ticket prices may be above face value.

The image of a raging, narcissistic tyrant, convinced that he can crush even death into oblivion, has all too many resonances these days.

Ionesco's absurdist Exit The King returns!
Eugene Ionesco's great absurdist comedy Exit the King comes to Pasadena in May, playing at A Noise Within! A hilarious yet poignant reflection on mortality and our ability as humans to either accept or deny it, the 1962 classic has run on Broadway and around the world and is just as brilliant today as the day it premiered.
King Berenger I is sovereign to a decaying realm. His vast armies are dispersed, the walls are tumbling and even the palace washing machine has been pawned. His first wife advises him that he has only the length of the play to live, while his second wife attempts to distract his attention from this distasteful reality. Will he eventually be able to let go?
