Hughie & Krapp's Last Tape

Hughie & Krapp's Last Tape at Audrey Skirball Kenis Theater

Why see Hughie & Krapp's Last Tape?

Starring Brian Dennehy

Golden Globe and two-time Tony winner Brian Dennehy (Death of a Salesman, Long Day's Journey Into Night), brings not one, but two classic one-person shows to the Geffen.

This double bill begins with Eugene O'Neill's eccentric character study Hughie, which revolves around a two-bit hustler in New York, and the night clerk he chooses to regale with his tall tales. The second work, Samuel Beckett's Krapp's Last Tape, is based around an old recording which brings back a flood of memories. These are delicate explorations of the ways in which we reflect upon our younger selves as we grow older, and both are roles that Dennehy has performed before to great acclaim. Steven Robman directs.
