Why see American Ballet Theatre: Firebird?
don't miss this beautiful classic
American Ballet Theatre round out the season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavillion with a performance of their enchanting Firebird, amongst other beloved pieces in their repertoire. Re-imagined by Artistic Director Alexi Ratmansky, this Stravinsky classic takes you to a magical realm ruled by the dastardly sorcerer Kaschei and follows the story Prince Ivan, a lost mortal who comes across a particular ally, the glittering Firebird.
Based on Russian fairytales about a mythical bird that can be both a blessing and a curse to its owner, Firebird sees Prince Ivan team up with the avian wonder to battle the Kaschei and save his bewitched Princesses. A love story with daring adventure, the ABT's production will delight with magnificent costumes, sets and of course, incredible choreography!
