Los Angeles Opera mark their debut performance of Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar in spring 2025! Golijov's work, a dramatization of the life and death of poet Federico Garca Lorca, first debuted in Massachusetts in 2003. The cast includes Ana Maria Martinez, Daniela Mack, Vanessa Becerra and Alfredo Tejada. A powerful opera of love and war with a flamenco-inspired score that will take your breath away. Margarita Xirgu is an exiled actor who has been playing the same part on stage for nearly forty years, the role of Mariana Pineda in her old friend, Lorca's play. Returning to her past, Xirgu is faced with the life and death of Lorca, and the telling of the story of Pineda in honor of his memory.
