Why see George Lopez?

The Mexican-American Comedy King is back!

One of the most popular Latino comedians of all time, Lopez is an author, sitcom star, Grammy-nominated and undeniably hilarious. He's uncompromisingly edgy despite his massive success, and draws on his life as a Mexican-American man and his difficult early childhood experiences growing up with his grandparents.

His fanbase, although growing in size and range is mostly Hispanic and Latino; Lopez manages to tread a fine line between satire and political incorrectness when making uncompromising observations about his own Latino culture, which can make some new audiences occasionally uncomfortable. But more often than not, his fans enjoy his uncanny storytelling simply because of his huge ability to relate to them.

ABOUT GEORGE LOPEZ

As well as hitting the heady heights of fame in mainstream comedy, he is highly regarded by the Latino community for his achievements and for his extensive charity work. He was honored with the 2011 American Latino Media Arts Award or ALMA Award for Lopez Tonight.

George Lopez did not disappoint..and that hair!

Myself, my Mother (age 84) and our entire section and beyond were all in continuous laughter listening to George Lopez. If I had any complaints, is that we were unaware that apparently the opening acts had started before the 8:00 time given on the tickets so we missed an opening act, and part of another. But regardless of that, a thanks to George, you looked good and was great to see you. Laughter is so good for the soul! ... Read more

Representing life through humor

Hard thing to do now a days if any of you missed it. I love George Lopez and after reading all the reviews from other sites I am in utter disgust by what people can say to bring some one down. I saw a man gracefully aging from where we come from with a voice that is full of meaning and life. I would love some new material but being George it’s a bit hard these days to say any damn thing. So being born and raised in San Diego California and living in the mid west for the last seven years I was just so grateful that George would come see us here in STL for such a small amount of money in some extremely cold weather and to bring in someone as funny as Brian with him. Thanks George Lopez. Never give up. And thank you for keepin it real all these years. BTW there’s nothing secret about the service. Maybe next time I’ll have my 64 impala restored and it will be warmer. Loved the estimate,Twerk bad breath, and handshake it’s over. Just hit 40 a couple years ago. Honestly I laughed the entire time. I could never get tired of hearing all the material. When I wasn’t laughing it was a little quiet snicker. Working so hard these days and being able to hang with George made me feel like I was at home with a friend. keep your head up... ... Read more
