Why see Los Angeles Philharmonic - Sibelius and Grieg?
a rousing summer
Los Angeles Philharmonic continue their season of greats at the Hollywood Bowl this August with performances of two enthralling, legendary pieces of classical music: Grieg's Piano Concerto and Sibelius' Symphony No. 2! Conducted by Filipino-Finnish maestro Tarmo Peltokoski, witness the orchestra taking you through a rollercoaster of emotion with these two greats.
Grieg's ever popular Piano Concerto, written in 1868, demands immediate attention with the opening thunder of the timpani, which drives forwards with pace and energy before submitting to a sublime Adagio and rousing finale. Sibelius' second symphony meanwhile has been described as one of the only symphonies to come close to rivalling the work of Beethoven and is an artful, majestic work which ebbs and flows thrillingly.
