Legally Blonde

Legally Blonde at La Mirada Theatre

Why see Legally Blonde?

Blonde Ambition

The stereotype of the dumb blonde is given a firm shakeup in this spectacular adaptation of the cult hit classic film starring Reese Witherspoon. In a seven-time Tony Award-nominated run, Legally Blonde The Musical first turned the Great White Way back in 2007 and now comes to you! Leave your misconceptions at the theatre door and get ready to have a whole lotta fun!

What Is The Story?

An underdog tale with a twist, the story follows SoCal sorority girl Elle Woods and her journey of self-discovery. When her boyfriend Warner dumps her for not being serious enough, plans for a perfect future seem derailed. Yet after picking herself up from the post-break-up blues, Elle hatches a plan to win Warner back by heading to Harvard and becoming a lawyer. How hard could it be!? Amidst naysayers, many trials and tribulations, the plucky pink-wearing heroine learns she is capable, independent, and worth more than what's expected of her.

Wonderful afternoon

From the decorations in the lobby to the wonderful staging it was delightful. Fun and raucous with a fabulously talented and engaging cast. Treated my daughter and 2 granddaughters, honestly as lovely as my experiences on Broadway. The audience came to laugh and be entertained. We were not disappointed. ... Read more

A must see

A magically talented cast creates a verbal and musical waltz that is spectacular to behold. It’s fun from beginning to end, the audience is laughing and crying and the closing court scene is Broadway coordinated. Truly fantastic. I met Canadiens who flew in from Vancouver BC to see the show and were so impressed. Elle tirelessly and seamlessly connects each scene and has a voice that is rich, powerful, perfect in pitch and simply glorious. Her mannerisms, facial expressions and endless energy make her a star. Her acting transfixes all; you can hear a pin drop and feel her disappointment when she laments certain behaviors in song (no spoilers here). Her performance extracts incredible empathy from the audience and then awe as her character arc brings her to a strong, confident, independent woman. Paulette and Kyle’s relationship is so much fun and keeps you laughing all the time. Kyle should be a national tours first choice to be the UPS man as should Elle. The musical is so well directed that every character in every scene from beginning to end plays their part, has distinct mannerisms, pays attention to detail and adds to the humor of the scene. Bravo. This is a must see that is readily available and affordable and is right here, right now in our own Portland. Go see it if you can find a ticket, you won’t be disappointed. Don’t fall for the alternative sites asking $400 a ticket, no ticket should be over $100 and is usually between $37 and $68. There’s no bad seat in the house, the theater is small, 300+ seats. Enjoy. ... Read more
