Gustavo Dudamel is going out in style to celebrate his finale performance with the LA Philharmonic after 17 years, playing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall for one weekend only this June! Featuring a thrilling programme of choral symphonic pieces that call back to Dudamel's dual heritage, Gracias Gustavo is a wonderful tribute to a true giant of the Philharmonic.
Gustavo's final programme takes two pieces of gorgeous choral music inspired by poetry. First up is John Adams' Harmonium, which utilises the words of John Donne and Emily Dickinson to create an epic exploration of time in an emotional soundscape. Following this is Antonio Estevez' ground-breaking Cantata Criolla, a work of towering Venezuelan brilliance that celebrates the country's rich musical history with a story of a troubadour's battle with the devil himself.
