Symphonic Dances, Trumpet Concerto and more
Symphonic Dances, Trumpet Concerto and more
The brilliant rising star Anna Handler takes charge of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, conducting them through a thrilling program featuring the music of John Williams and Sergei Rachmaninoff, Known best for his film scores, John Williams' non-movie original music is just as magnificent and his Trumpet Concerto is testament to that, with Thomas Hooten - who topped the iTunes chart in 2019 for his recording of the work - performing the piece with the orchestra.
The program's Rachmaninoff offering is his final work, Symphonic Dances. A vibrant, kaleidoscopic work, each of its contrasting three dances come together for a retrospective whole that stunningly sums up the Romantic icon's musical philosophy. Finally, for those who require their film-score fix, audiences at the Saturday and Sunday performances will also be treated to Williams' legendary Jurassic Park theme! A spectacular time at the Walt Disney Concert Hall.
