At the time of his death, Mozart was just 35 years old and whilst the year had not been financially a good one for him, his output during this time is often considered his most rich and mature in scope and sound. This year, The Los Angeles Philharmonic explore the length and breadth of the maestro's work during 1791 beginning with this recital of his final Piano Concerto and other pieces that illustrate what further wonders we could have been blessed with had his passing been delayed.
Composed whilst his beloved wife was away on a restful vacation, Piano Concerto No.27 encapsulates Mozart's pain and longing infusing exquisite romanticism with his depression.
