Mozart's Final Work

As part of the Rituals Festival from the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Esa-Pekka Salonen conducts the orchestra through a thrilling rendition of Mozart's final work, his Requiem. As well as spotlighting the vocal talents of soloists Jennifer France, Beth Taylor, Laurence Kilsby and Michael Sumuel, the majesty of the Los Angeles Master Chorale completes the ensemble for this magnificent performance.

Mozart's final Requiem has intrigued listeners since it first premiered over two hundred years ago. Unfinished upon his death, it was through his wife's promotion that the mythical piece finally reached the public. Full of haunting emotion and humanity, it is captivating and an example of an unfathomable talent, undiminished even in the face of the famed composer's own mortality.
